Tell your readers a little about yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school etc. Let them get to know the personal you.

I’m Bibi Apampa, I was born in Nigeria, grew up, schooled and married in Nigeria.

What inspired you to author this book?

A desire to see more ladies happily married. My husband and l have been involved with counselling and mentoring young adults especially marital counselling for over 10years.  We had discussed the possibility of starting a “Finishing School for Brides” as we perceived that there was a gap that needed to be filled.

l discussed the idea with some friends and the idea of writing the book “Nigerian Brides Academy” came up as a fore runner to a bootcamp for Brides and Brides to-be , so l wrote the framework and the topics to be covered

How did you find the eighteen women to write this book. That is powerful in itself.

I can safely say that the choice of the 18 women was divine as  l got connected to most of them when the idea for the book came out.

We wanted the book to incorporate different view points of successful Nigerian women who have a passion to see the younger generation succeed in their marital life. The idea was for them to share their experience, strong points and ideas on how they were able to successfully balance career, business and ministry and still have a happy and sweet home.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?

I needed a happy and lovely African bride as the model. I walked into the photographic studio of a couple l was mentoring and l saw the picture of his wife modelling after a makeup session and it was just perfect for the book cover. I asked for permission to use the picture as the book cover and they were so elated another proof that the book was divinely orchestrated by God. It was as if the picture was specifically taken for the book

Who has been the biggest influence on you personally and as a writer?

My parents. Both of them were academicians and they made me develop a love for books growing up

What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get this book written?

Coordinating and compiling the work of 18 ladies across 4 continents was a big challenge and getting the contents of the book to gel, flow and follow the framework was a bigger challenge as well as editing and compiling the transcripts for the book to become a reality
